Removing Suspended Solid in Water by Higher Aquatic Plants

Rule of concentration change of suspended solid was discussed when water containing suspended solid was flowing through higher aquatic plant community constructed by Cyperus alternifolius,Acorus gramineus,Ceratophyllum demersum, Hydrilla verticillata and Vallisneria spiralis in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,with analysis of removal efficiency of the community and each kind of aquatic plant.Results showed that the constructed community can effectively reduce suspended solid concentration in water,but the effect was various according to various kinds of aquatic plants.
