Photocatalytic Degradation of Formaldehyde by TiO_2 Films Doped with Metal Ions

TiO2,Fe3+/TiO2 and La3+/TiO2 thin films were prepared on popular glass slide by sol gel process.The effects of calcining temperature,calcining time,layer of coating,doping contents of Fe3+ and La3+ on photocatalysis of TiO2 were studied.Results indicated that property of La3 +/TiO2 was better than TiO2 and Fe3 +/TiO2 showed the best photocatalytic performance for decomposition of formaldehyde in air phase.When calcining temperature was 450℃,calcining time was 2h, Fe:Ti(mol)was 0.3%,layers of coating was 4 and time of catalytic reaction was 3h,degradation efficiency of formaldehyde was up to 49.24% in a closed system.
