Effect of Photocatalytic Activity of Sol-gel Doped Fe~(3+) on TiO_2 Films Using Micro-arc Oxidation

TiO2 films prepared on titanium surface by micro-arc oxidation (MAO)in Na3PO4 solution were treated by sol-gel and Fe3+ doped to improve the activity. The structure and photocatalytic ability of TiO2 film before and after surface treatment were characterized and evaluated by EDX and photocatalytic decoloration of Rhodamine B aqueous solution respectively. Results showed that the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 coatings was enhanced after sol-gel and Fe3+ doped,with photocatalytic decoloration rate increasing from 13.8% to 42.5% by sol-gel load while photocatalytic decoloration rate increasing from 42.5% to 68.9% by Fe3+ doped 1%.
