Evaluation of Disinfectant and Prospect of New Sterilization Reagent

Based on the analysis of present status of disinfectant,it was found that the world is facing with rapidly growing problem of super bugs or bacteria that have developed a resistance to one or more antibiotics or disinfectants. Application of advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)would show the advantage not only on disinfection but also on degeneration of organic materials in wastewater treatment,with hydroxyl radical known as the advanced green oxidation method,which have no impact on the environment and human. However,Fenton reaction which is generally used to produce .OH still has certain disadvantages. Through the analysis of the present disinfectants,a modified Fenton reagent with reaction of organic acid and metal ions was introduced. Further study and application were also proposed.
