Recovery of High Concentration Ammonia Nitrogen in Rare Earth Ammonia Sulfate Wastewater

Sedimentation and blow-off method were used to treat rare earth ammonia sulfate wastewater and recover ammonia nitrogen. Results showed that hardness can be decreased to 91.8% and pH improved to 12.1 by adding amount of 7.7gCaO into wastewater of 1t. Removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen in the first blow-off treatment was 97% under the condition of pH 12,blow-off time 3h and gas-liquid ratio 6,000. Removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen in the second blow-off treatment was 86.2% under the condition of pH 11.3,blow-off time 2h and gas-liquid ratio 4,000. The effluent can meet national discharge standard. In the blow -off treatment of 1t wastewater,17.39g ammonia sulfate were made by absorbing with sulfuric acid.
