Influence of Preparation Technology to Electrosorptive Deionization on Activated Carbon Electrode

Activated carbon electrode was prepared with activated carbon,phenolic resin and methenamineare. Influence of the mass of activated carbon,proportion of adhesive,temperature and time of carbonizing were studied. Scan electron microscope(SEM)was used to analyze surface appearance of electrodes. Results indicated that electrode can be molded when proportion of activated carbon,phenolic resin and methenamineare was 8∶1.8∶0.2 and the desalination rate decreased as the increasing content of binders. Time of adsorption equilibrium and desalination rate were increased,equilibrium adsorption capacity was reduced by raising the mass of activated carbon. When NaCl concentration reached to a certain degree,the change of desalination rate was decreased,with mass of activated carbon of 0.45g per electrode. The higher temperature and longer time,the higher desalination rate was,and it can be carbonized thoroughly at 850℃ for 2h,desalination rate of which was 2.08times than that of uncarbonized.
