Removing Phosphate from Water by Means of Adsorption of Hydrous Tantalum Oxide

This paper dealt with a laboratory experiment to study adsorption of phosphate in water using hydrous tantalum oxide as a new adsorbent,which involved influences of adsorption time,pH,initial phosphate concentration in water and temperature on phosphate adsorption onto hydrous tantalum oxide.The optimum condition in terms of adsorption and desorption was thus derived.Analysis by IR spectrum showed that after the adsorption the specific peak appeared at 1 066 cm-1 and the adsorption made Ta-O shift to the "blue" side of the spectrum between 638 and 670 cm-1.
