Synthesis and Flocculation Properties of High Performance Cationic Polyacrylamide

Dendritic functional monomer with properties of large space volume and strong hydrophobic interaction was synthesized via Ritter reaction of acrylonitrile and disobutylenein.Its structure was characterized by MS and NMR.A series of high molecular weight cationic polyacrylamides were prepared with copolymerization of dendritic functional monomer,acrylamide(AM) and methacryloxyethyltrimethyl ammonium chloride(DMC) using complex initiation system as catalysts in aqueous solution.Flocculation characteristics of polyacrylamides were investigated.Experimental results showed that the flocculants possess good effect of degreasing,decontamination and would be expected to be popularized and applied in the field of sewage treatment.
