Decolorization of Rhodamine B by Electrical Discharge in Liquid and Electrode Catalysis

This paper described an experiment on dyestuff decolorization by means of Ti anode electrical discharge in Rhodamine B solution,during which high energy plus catalyst generated a great number of ·OH that were of very strong oxidizability.The optimum condition for oxidation/decolorization was studied with respect to discharging DC voltage,depth of electrode into the solution,electrolyte concentration of Na2SO4,initial pH and initial concentration of Rhodamine B.It was found that a liquid discharge-electrode catalysis system was formed on Ti anode under DC voltage thus greatly enhance the decolorization reaction.
