Hydraulic Characteristics in Straight Section of Oxidation Ditch

Compared with the theory of open-channel flows,hydraulics of straight section in an oxidation ditch model was studied with the help of the Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter(ADV)to measure the velocity field.Through analyzing and fitting of the measured data the distribution patterns of both vertical and lateral flows along the straight section were obtained.The result,compared with those in a typical open channel,showed the hydraulic regime in the straight section of the oxidation ditch was remarkably different,i.e,velocity distribution along the vertical direction was obviously zoned,and velocity pattern in the outer part was quite different to that in the inner part of the oxidation ditch.
