Testing Standard and Research Progress on Detection of Dioxin and Dioxin-like Compounds

Dioxin and dioxin-like compounds are persistent organic pollutants among the compounds on the first list of Stockholm Convention because of their huge harm to human society.Monitoring and control of dioxin and dioxin-like compounds has been an urgent task for environmental policy makers in different countries and detection of dioxin and dioxin-like compounds is becoming the focus at home and abroad.Based on the review of testing standards made by regulators in different countries and some international organizations,the progress both on pretreatment and detection of chemical and biological analytical methods for dioxin and dioxin-like compounds were summarized.Characteristics and scope of application of various methods were compared,to provide a basis for developing new detection methods which are more sensitive and practical,and to provide a reference for China to study dioxin and dioxin-like compounds and to further improve the monitoring and prevention measures.
