Study on the Pretreatment of Dyeing Wastewater With Highconcentration Ammonia by Air-stripping

High-concentration ammonia and high-temperature are the two remarkable characteristics of dyeing wastewater discharging from the carpet workshop in Xinyu city in Jiangxi province.Orthogonal tests were carried out to investigate the different factors affecting the removal efficiency of ammonia from the dyeing wastewater.The experimental results showed that ammonia could be efficiently removed by air-stripping pretreatment.The sequence of the influence degree on the ammonia stripping efficiency was: pHstripping timeaeration intensity.As the initial temperature and ammonia concentration were 77 °C and 508~950 mg/L respectively,the preferable ammonia stripping efficiency as high as 67.5% could be obtained at the optimum conditions with pH of 11,stripping time of 2 h and aeration intensity of 6.1 L/min.
