Preparation of Floating Visible-light Photocatalyst Fe-N-TiO_2/FP and Its Photocatalytic Performance

Floating visible-light photocatalysts(Fe-N-TiO_2/FP) grafted on floating pearls were prepared by sol-gel method.The photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),N_2 adsorption-desorption(BET),UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-vis-DRS) and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results showed that by modifying iron doping contents in Fe-N-TiO_2/FP,we could effectively obtain the photocatalysts with higher specific surface area and porosity.Compared with N-TiO_2/FP,Fe-N-TiO_2/FP exhibits an obvious red-shift of absorption band edge and the absorption intensity of visible region improved evidently.In the experiment of photodegradation of Rhodamine B(RhB),the removal of pollutant by Fe-N-TiO_2/FP can be up to 88.8%after 4 hours under the visible light.The results of photodegradation for RhB under different pH conditions show that partial acid environment is beneficial to RhB degradation.A high concentration of RhB not only hinders the visible light irradiation,but also affects the further adsorption of RhB.After three runs,the materials still keep higher removal efficiency.
