A Method to Define Red Line of Atmospheric Environment by Use of CALPUFF Model

This paper refers to the application of CALPUFF model in terms of its function to calculate contribution rates of the gridded virtual point sources of air pollution to the receptors,by which the concerned districts affected by the point sources could be discerned,thus the "red line" of atmospheric environment be determined;and that means the drawbacks of the method presently used to locate the red line,which would more likely lead to uncertainty pan be avoided.Taking Shanghai as an instance,the non-gridded and gridded receptors are set,and the results analyzed.It comes out that the uncertainty is less with the gridded-receptors-setting,and the red line thus defined is more convenient to be used for further analysis;and the sensitive test conducted in regard to virtual point sources emitting heights shows that the difference of emitting heights less impacts the result of the defined red line.In other word,the gridded-receptors-setting is more robust and the red-line-defining method using CALPUFF is expected to be a useful tool in urban environmental planning.
