Inversion of PM Concentration in Anhui Province from MODIS Aerosol Optical Depth

Based on aerosol optical depth from MODIS Ievel2 products,the relationship model between aerosol optical depth and particulate matter concentration was established by vertical correction and water vapor correction.The time series of PM_(2.5) concentration in Hefei was analyzed as well.Results show that the correlation coefficient of aerosol optical depth and PM concentration is low.However,the correlation coefficient is obviously higher than before through vertical correction and water vapor correction.The boundary layer thickness and relative humidity from ECMWF reanalysis products are suitable for vertical correction and water vapor correction of aerosol optical depth.The month average PM_(2.5) concentrations of Hefei by calculating with MODIS aerosol optical depth show a trend of growth shock.PM_(2.5) concentration is high in winter,followed in spring and autumn,and the lowest in summer.
