Research on Simultaneous Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Runoff Rainwater by Bioretention

In order to improve the removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus in the runoff rainwater by the bioretention,the effects of different combined packings and saturated depths on the removal rate of total phosphorus and nitrate were studied.Then the optimal operating conditions were found.Finally,the removal effect of nitrogen and phosphorus by bioretention in bench scale experiment was operated.The results showed that,the optimal condition is choosing the medical stone combined packing and setting saturated zone with depth 35 cm.The removal rates by the device after optimization during seven simulation experiments of COD,NH_4~+-N,NO_3~--N,TN and TP were 68.65%~82.86%,73.47%~91.69%,29.35%~74.56%,58.66%~74.88% and 78.37%~93.90% respectively.The removal of pollutants from simulated runoff rainwater by the device is stable,and it is suitable for road residence zone.
