Using Phosphorous Waste as the Phosphate Source to Treat Sludge Filter Wastewater with MAP Method

Using the magnesium-ammonium-phosphate(MAP) can remove high concentration ammonia nitrogen contaminant from sludge filter wastewater effectively. But it also can't be used extensively,because of the high cost of phosphate source. A kind of phosphorus waste as the phosphate source was selected,to solve the high cost problem of the phosphate source in MAP. In the experiment,a suitable acid was selected from three industrial acids,to get more water soluble phosphorus from dissolving the phosphorus waste. So the water soluble phosphorus can be used in MAP method to remove the ammonia nitrogen. The result shows that,oxalic acid is more suitable to dissolve the phosphorus waste and the dissolution rate of phosphorus can reach about 60%. Using the dissolved matter as phosphorus,it can remove over 70% of ammonia nitrogen in sludge filter wastewater by MAP. It also can offer a new method for the high concentration ammonia nitrogen wastewater treatment.
