Stabilization/Solidification of Oily Cuttings with CFBC Fly Ash Activated by Means of Mechanochemistry

CFBC fly ash was activated by means of mechanochemistry and it was used to stabilize/solidify oily cuttings. The effect of different ratio of oily cuttings on solidification and degradation was investigated and its mechanism was discussed.The results showed that when the content of oily drilling cuttings is 50%,the oil content of the sample is 1.92% and the compressive strength of 28 d was 22.70 MPa,the oily concentration of the solidified body is only 3.875 mg/L,which is lower than that of GB 8978-1996. The analysis of XRD showed that the organic in the oily cuttings by the form of physical wrapping was solidified in the gel phase of solidified body. The analysis of IR showed that the mechanochemical method has good degradation effect on the oil substance in oil drilling cuttings.
