Optimized Constructed Wetlands to Treat Slightly-polluted Water in Taihu Lake:Technology Based on a Non-linear Programming Model

To enhance the integrated water environment abatement in the lake-catchment of Taihu Lake,numbers of constructed wetlands(CWs) projects have been built for treating slightly-polluted water in Jiangsu Province. This paper presented a non-linear programming model which was developed based on first-order dynamic model with reference to the design parameters of CWs for disposing of effluents of wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)both at home and abroad,and meantime the uncertainty of the influent water quality was taken into consideration. Referring to the status quo of the CW of Taihuwan WWTP,the author made the scenario analysis of the CW's operation in different seasons,which resulted in an optimized scheme. In conclusion,the model was quite adaptable to the CWs in lake-catchment of Taihu Lake;and to ensure the compliance with the effluent discharge standard,as for the vertical flow CWs,it was necessary to enlarge the area,and to reduce CW surface flows and ecological ponds. What's more,the optimized design scheme and technology were suitable for treating slightly-polluted water.
