Emission Characteristics and Treatment Technology Status of the Pollutants from Flat Glass Furnace

With the development of air pollution control, the emission standard for flat glass furnace is getting stringent. The after-treatment technology successfully applied to power industry could not meet the increased requirements for pollution control of flat glass furnace. The characteristics of pollutant emission and the status of control technology were investigated through field research and monitoring. The problems and suggestions for improvement concerned the control technology were also put forward. The results showed that the unstable operation of pollution abatement equipment originated from the period-ically variable pollutants concentration and the scale materials existed in the flue gas, namely sodium sulfate, gypsum and so on. The cost of pollution control technology for flat glass furnace was at an acceptable level for the companies. The synergis-tic removal of sulfur oxide, nitric oxide and particulate materials is the most promising technology in the future.
