The photosynthetic characteristics of seedlings of Magnolia liliflora

Photosynthetic characteristics of seedlings of Magnolia liliflora were determined and analyzed at different growing stages.The results showed that the light compensation point,light saturation point and CO2 compensation point of saplings of M.liliflora were typical of photosynthetic properties of C3 plants.The daily course of net photosynthesis rate(Pn) was double peak curve and while the photosynthetic 'siesta' came forth at 14:00.At growing stages,Pn showed flourishing stageinitial stagefinal stage.Leave temperature,air temperature and illuminance were the major influencing factors for Pn based on analyzing those measured data.The chlorophyll concentration at flourishing stage was higher than that at final stage,and that at final stage was higher than that at initial stage.
