Effects of waterlogging stress on the activity of cell defensive enzymes and lipid peroxidation in Sapium sebiferum seedlings were studied with two provenances of different resistant (Zhejiang Lanxi Fujian Zhangpu). The results showed that superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity of the provenances of Zhejiang keep in high level, while activity of the provenances of Fujian gradually falls down. The activity of peroxidase (POD) of the two provenances had the current of decrease gradually. The content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and H_2O_2,production rate of O-·_2 were increased with time increasing.
