Acidity of Open and Intercepted Precipitation in Chinese Fir Plantation and Effects on the Soil in Nanping,China

Acidity of stemflow was much greater than that of open rainfall and throughfall at two located monitoring slies at varyng distances from sulphur dioxide sources.Emissions of sulphur dioxide appeard to have acidifying effect on open rainfall,throughfall,stemflow and soil solution at Xiqin site mear major sources.Resulting effects on soil chemistry included elevated exchangeable bases and Ca2+/Al3+ ratio,and slightly decreasd available phosphorus.
