Li Zhonghong(Xikou Forest Farm of Fujian Province,Xianyou 3512O0)
The leafroller weevil(Bytiscus sp)is a serious pest of Deabergia balansae Prain in Fujian. The studies on bionomics and control of this weevil during period from 1989 to 1992 showed that the pest reproduces only one generation each year and overwinters as adiut. The adult started to lay eggs in early April and the egg stage lasted for 5 to 7days.The larvae generally have two instars and lasted between 9 and 12 days.Spraying with 80% Dichiorvos or 50% Methamidophos on the infected shoots is an effective control measure over this pest.
