Studies on the Bionomics and Control of Satyrium formosanum (Matsumura)

Satyrium formosanum (Matsumura ) is a new pest of Sapindus mukorossi Gaertn in Fujian province It has one generation a year and overwinters as eggs The eggs begin to hatch in early March next year The pupa appears in early April, and emerges in late April The egg stage lasts 278 ̄312 days, the larvae generally has four instars and lasts 26 ̄41days, the pupal stage lasts 10 ̄19 days The effective measures to control the larvae are spraying with 40% Omethoate, 80% Dichlorvos, 90% Dipterx or 2 5% Deltamethrin
