The Relationship Between the Resistance of chastnut Varieties toBlight and the substances from the secondary metabolism

we analysed the polyphenol substance and flavonoids contents of the leaves and bark from twenty varieties of chastnut with different resistance The results showed that the polyphenol substances content of the resistant varieties was higher than that of the susceptible ones from leaves and bark, and that the flavonoids content of the resistant varieties was higher than that of the susceptible ones from the bark The flavonoids content from the leaves did not show the regular changes of disease resistance among chastnut varieties
