Identifying Fujian Camellia Oil Adulteration by Gas Chromatography

The fatty acid composition and content of soybean oil,corn oil,rapeseed oil,sunflower oil,palm oil and camellia oil from 14 sites in Fujian were determined by using gas chromatography.The changes of the fatty acid composition and content were studied when the camellia oil were adulterated with soybean oil,corn oil,rapeseed oil,sunflower oil or palm oil in different proportion.The results showed that palmitic acid,oleic acid,linoleic acid and linolenic acid could be used as the characteristic fatty acids for identifying Camellia oil.By analyzing the change trend of characteristic fatty acids in the adulteration samples,the camellia oil adulteration could be qualitative and quantitative identification according to the content of characteristic fatty acids.This study provided references and basis for identifying the camellia oil adulteration in Fujian.
