Preliminary Study on Crossbreeding of Male Paralichthys dentatus and Female Paralichthys lethostigma

Paralichthys dentatus and Paralichthys lethostigma fry,with total body length of 3~5cm,were introduced from Shandong Province to Haixin Hatchery in Ningde for cultivation.After two and a half years of cultivation,male Paralichthys dentatus and female Paralichthys lethostigma broodfishes were selected from the cultured population.They were both induced to maturation and ovulation with exogenous hormone implantation under the environmental management in the spawning season.478.6g of fertilized eggs were obtained through artificial fertilization with a fertilized rate of 62.9%.Hatch rate was 75.3% and 360,000 newly hatched larvae were obtained.220,000 fry,4.20 cm in mean total body length,were obtained with a survival rate of 61.1% after 65 days of rearing.The crossbred fry developed rapidly,showing a dominant trait.
