Preparation and Characterization of Graphene from Nature Graphite by Solvothermal Method

The graphite oxide(GO) was prepared from Heilongjiang Jixi natural flake graphite by the modified Hummers method.The graphene was subsequently reduced by solvothermal method,using ethylene glycol and ammonia water as solvent and reducing solvent respectively.The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR),UV-vis absorption spectrometry(UV-vis) and atom force microscopy(AFM).The results suggest that the functional groups on graphite oxide(GO) surface are mostly removed by solvothermal method,generating high quality graphene.
