The Effects of the Ratio between Phenolic Resin and Nitrile on the Properties of Resin Based Friction Material for Aluminum Matrix Composite

With cast SiCp reinforced aluminum matrix composites as the dual,the effects of three different ratio between phenolic resin and nitrile on the properties of resin based friction material had been investigated in this paper using MM-1000 friction and wear tester.The results showed that the resin-based friction material had better overall performance when the ratio of phenolic resin and nitrile rubber was 6∶14,the more stable curve of friction torque,fewer wear loss,fewer abrasive dust and better wear resistance,and when brake pressure was 0.36 MPa,the average friction coefficient was about 0.3,when brake pressure was 0.5 MPa,the average friction coefficient was about 0.27.
