The Influence of Rhetorical Pattern——Historical Biographical Text Structure——in Shiji(Historical Records) upon Chuanqi(Legendary Novels)

The rhetorical pattern originated from Shiji(Historical Records) by Sima Qian,characterized by the use of historical biographical chapter structure,has exerted great influence on the Chuanqi novels(legendary novel) coming into existence since Tang Dynasty.In this article,the comparison method is used to discuss their derivative relations and the reasons for such relations from five perspectives: overall text structure,structure of the text beginning,the "life" substructure in the beginning text,the structure of concluding text, and all-inclusive styles of the text.
