Heat Transfer Model of Friction Sheets during Skidding

Actual contacts of friction couple during skidding of friction sheets are among the decline protruding bodies on the friction surface. Local temperature on the friction surface is excessively high due to the transient friction heat. A heat transfer model of the contucts was put forward according to skidding characteristics of friction sheets and heat transfer theory. Temperature distribution of the contacts was analyzed by the model. It is shown that the temperature distribution along the lines of material thickness is linear and transient temperature of the contacts is in direct proportion to skid power of unit area and skid time. Results calculated by the model are consistent with those in previous literatures and the model reflects actual temperature on the friction surface better than others.
