Study on solvent debinding of 316L/317L MIM green parts

Solvent debinding of MIM 316L and 317L stainless steel green parts is affected by the type of solvent, the temperature of debinding solvent, the thickness of green parts, the powder particle size and shape. The results show that the crack and the bubble defects of green parts could be avoided when choosing hexane as debinding solvent and controlling the debinding temperature at 37℃, the debinding rate of green parts constituted by larger and spherical powders is faster than that constituted by small and irregular one in the early stages of solvent debinding, but it is opposite in the final stages.
