Identification of CRIC 5 by Using SSR Molecular Markers

In this study,9 pairs of Simple Sequence Repeat(SSR)molecular marker primers were screened for construction of the fingerprint of CRIC 5(Citrus reticulata Blanco cv.Ehime No.30× Citrus reticulata Blanco cv.Shiyueju).In these screened primer pairs,5 primer pairs(CSSR038、SS16、CSSR052、SS9、CSSR014)showed the same bands with its male parent Shatangju,3 primer pairs(CSSR020,SS12,CSSR037)with its female parent Ehime No.30,and the bond of 1 primer pair is different from both male and female parents.By using these primers for fingerprinting,two unknown citrus samples(from Jianyang and Ziyang,Sichuan,respectively)were identified as citrus variety CRIC 5.Thus,SSR based DNA molecular marker technique is a powerful tool for discriminating this new citrus cultivar.
