Effects of Lime-ammonium Bicarbonate Fumigation on Banana Growth and Structure of Rhizosphere Microbial Community in a Continuous Cropping System

Hainan Province is the main banana growing and processing region in China.However,due to continuous cropping,the Fusarium wilt disease seriously outbreaks,resulting in production losses and impairing the development of banana industry in the region.Therefore,the purpose of this study was to find an effective measure to mitigate or overcome the obstacle of banana continuous cropping.A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of green soil fumigation agent on the prevention and control of Fusarium wilt disease in the banana orchards with longterm continuous cropping,especially on the growth and development of plants,chemical property of soil,and rhizosphere microflora.Two treatments were selected for field experiment:The lime-ammonium bicarbonate fumigation(LAB)and the control check(CK).Results indicated that compared with CK,LAB treatment significantly decreased the incidence of diseased plants by 40% and 46.62%,and significantly increased the yield by 33.01% and 75.46%,respectively,in two seasons.Meanwhile,LAB treatment could significantly improve the soil pH value,mitigate soil acidification,increase soil organic matter,and significantly increase soil available phosphorus by 28.33% and 89.14%,and rapidly available potassium by 23.92% and 38.67%,respectively in two seasons.Moreover,LAB treatment significantly changed the structure of rhizosphere microbial community,significantly decreased the relative abundance of Ascomycota and Proteobacteria,and significantly increased the relative abundance of Actinobacteria.Furthermore,LAB treatment significantly decreased the relative abundance of Furarium,and significantly increased the relative abundance of soil antagonist microbes,such as Streptomyces,Rhodococcus and Aspergillus.Hence,it was indicated that using lime-ammonium bicarbonate fumigation could effectively improve the structure of rhizosphere microbial community,efficiently prevent and control the occurrence of Fusarium wilt disease and promote the growth of plants.
