Concept and Measures of Radioactive Liquid Effluents “Near-zero Release” in Inland Nuclear Power Plants

The radioactive liquid effluents of inland NPPs are discharged into inland surface water.In order to better protect the public and environment,the Chinese national standards,GB 6249—2011 and GB 14587—2011,put forward more stringent requirements on release concentrations of inland NPPs than that of coastal NPPs.It means in fact a target of " near-zero release" of radioactive liquid effluents for inland NPPs.This paper sets forth the concept of" near-zero release" of radioactive liquid effluents for inland NPPs,and also describes measures that should be taken to achieve this target.
