Computation of Full-energy Peak Efficiency for a HPGe Detector Using Monte Carlo Method

Monte Carlo simulations have been performed in order to calculate the full-energy peak efficiency of a HPGe detector.The length,radius and deadlayer thickness of detector crystal were optimized by comparing computational results with measured values.The results show that,after adjustment,for X,γ rays in the energy range 13.9—1 332 keV in different positions,the relative deviations of full-energy peak efficiency between computational and measured results were mostly within ±3% in high energies and ±6% in low energies(60 keV).
