IN SITU MEASUREMENT OF THE Cl~- CONCENTRATION DISTRIBUTION ON METAL SURFACE

The micro-combination Ag/AgCl electrode and the micro-combination Cl~- sensitive liquid membrane electrode were designed and constructed.The availability of the two micro Cl~- sensitive probes was examined for in situ measuring the Cl~- concentration distribution in two-dimension of metal surface for localized corrosion system.It has been demonstrated that the Cl~- distribution close to the interface of metal/electrolyte can be determined sensitively by the scanning micro combination Cl~- sensitive solid and liquid membrane electrode,and they may become a promising tool for studying the role of Cl~- in micro area on metal surface when the localized corrosion initiates and propagates.
