Interventional treatment of congenital ureteropelvic junction obstruction

Objective:To evaluate the interventional therapeutic efficacy of congenital ureteropelvic junction obstruction.Methods:Thirteen children with congenital ureteropelvic junction obstruction aged 4~15 years were treated with percutaneous nephrostomy,stricture dilatation and internal drainage.Results:Balloon dilatation of stricture and drainage of obstructed kidney were successfully performed in all children.After treatment renal pressure decreased significantly and intravenous urography documented improvenent of obstruction.The satisfactory therapeutic effect was obtained during 3 to 12 months follow up.Conclusion:Interventional treatment has characteristic features of less invasion, simple manipulation,more safety and no scar left to congenital ureteropelvic junction obstruction.
