The application of reduced field of view diffusion weighted imaging in adrenal nodule

Objective:To study the application of reduced field of view diffusion weighted imaging(rFOV DWI)in adrenal nodules.Methods:24 patients with adrenal nodule were included in this study.The routine plain scan,full field of view DWI(fFOV DWI)and rFOV DWI were performed with b=0,800 s/mm~2.Image quality was evaluated by two radiologists with five-point scale and the ADC value of adrenal nodules were measured by eADC software.Results:The score of image quality with rFOV DWI was 4.68±0.65,which was significantly higher than that of f FOV DWI 3.79±0.59(Z=-4.329,P0.01).There was no significant difference between adenoma and non-adenoma in ADC value no matter using rFOV DWI or fFOV DWI(all P0.05).Conclusions:rFOV DWI sequence could achieve higher tissue resolution,and clearly show the relationship between adrenal nodule and normal adrenal gland,providing more evidence in the diagnosis of adrenal nodule and hyperplastic lesion.However,ADC value has limited value in the qualitative diagnosis of adrenal nodule.
