Study on Properties of Nano-sized Antimony Doped Tin Oxide Suspension

In order to prepare nano-sized antimony doped tin oxide (ATO) suspension with low viscosity, good stability and dispersability, the stabilizing and dispersing behaviors of nano-sized ATO particles in deionized water are studied. The effects of type of dispersant, amount of ATO, pH value and amount of dispersant on the stability, dispersabilily and rheology of nano-sized ATO suspension are discussed. The properties of nano-sized ATO suspension are characterized using sedimentary volume experiment, Zeta potential, laser size analyzer and TEM. When 8% of ATO and 8% ~ 10% of dispersant PEI (polyethyleneimine) are added and pH value is more than 4, the sedimentary volume is less than 16% . The average sizes of nano-sized ATO particles are 100 nm and the viscosity of the suspension is less than 2 mPa.s.
