Analysis of Particle Crushing by Jet Mill

In order to analyze the relationship between the crushing of granules and their material properties, the superfine powder granules crushed by impact are investigated. The stress wave theory and the structure characteristies are applied to qualitatively analyse the granule crusling by jet will. By applying JFC - 5 jet mill to crush eight kinds of crystal and noncrystal materials and by using SSX - 550 scanning electron microscope to observe their granule shapes, it is found that the crushing of crystal granules has a close association with their crystal structures and the crushed granules have relatively conspicuous crystal characteristics. It is also found that amorphous granule crushing has great randomicity and the granule shape has no obvious geometrical character. There is no crystal boundary to follow on granule surface.
