Thermal stress analysis of water cooling roller for flour mill based on FEM

In order to study the temperature effects of roller produce thermal stress and thermal expansion of roller mill, the water cooling roller was taken as research object, the numerical models for roller body's heat-transfer and thermal stress were established, roller body's steady temperature field was calculated using finite element software ANSYS. The thermal-structural coupling analysis was accomplished. The results show that the thermal stress lead to stress concentration on roller's neck, the maximum stress is 201 MPa. Temperature effect lead to different degrees of displacement on roll body, and the displacement is between 0.054 5~0.163 0 mm, thus causing the phenomenon of roller which is large at two poles and little in the middle.
