Particle size change in measurement of zeta potential

In order to analyze the influence of electric field on the properties of the nano-particles during the measurement by the electrophoretic light scattering method, the changes of the particle size distribution of two kinds of standard particles of 210 and 360 nm were studied. By measuring the dynamic light scattering signal at the 90 degree scattering angle, the signal was analyzed by the auto correlation technique and the particle size distribution was calculated by the accumulation method. The experimental results show that in the case of small voltage, there is little change in particle size distribution, while the average particle size increases with the increase of the voltage. The higher the voltage is, the faster the particle agglomeration.
