Effect of vibration performance on packing density of NdFeB magnet powder based on EDEM

In order to improve the packing density of NdFeB magnet powder, the particles position were rearranged to decrease the voidage with the method of vibration, the model of magnet particles were established and simulated with discrete element software EDEM. The vibrational states of NdFeB magnet powder under different vibration frequency and vibration time were simulated and analyzed. The results show that, with the increase of frequency, the packing density of powder appears to increase first and then decrease,the density are the highest when the particles vibrate with frequency around 70 Hz. With the increase of time, the powder compacts gradually,the packing density reaches the maximum in a shorter time with a higher frequency, it reaches the maximum in a longer time with lower frequency.
