Enantiomeric Recognition of Continuous Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Rod Prepared by In-situ Method

A continuous rod of molecularly imprinted polymer was prepared by in situ molecular imprinting technique using R-1-(1-naphthyl) ethylamine as template molecules. The preparation procedure was simple and easy. The enantiomeric recognition of the moecularly imprinted polymer rod was evaluated hy comparing the retention values of the enanhomers of 1-(1-naphthyl)ethylthene and its mcemate in liquid chromatography. The results showed that the original template was more strongly retained than its isomer and racemate in the imprinted polymer rod-type coltumn. However, a blank polymer rod with the same chemical composition could not retain any antipode of 1-(1-naphthyl)ethylamine. This suggested that the template was effectively .imprinted in the prepared polymer rod by the in-situ method.
