Thermodynamic Performance of Low Pressure and Thin Coated Column in Gas Chromatography and Its Application

In this paper, thermodynamic performance of low pressure and thin coated column in gas chromatography and its application were described. A column (1 m in length and 3 mm in i.d.) packed with 0.5% NPGA on glazing support 302(Φ0.18~0.25 mm) was used. Dissolution enthalpy (ΔH), specific retention volume (Vg), gasification heat under optimum conditions of chromatography were determined. The results show that the thermodynamic value are less in low pressure than in ordinary pressure. The method was applied to the separation of organic compounds in waste water with satisfactory results.
