Studies on Seperation of Mercury by Emulsion Liquid Membrane System

The separation of mercury using the emulsion liquid membrane system was studied. The optimum conditions were established. The concentrations of carrier TBP and surfactant Span 80 were both 9%. The concentrations of NaOH in internal phase and HCl in external phase were 0 4 mol/L and 0 02 mol/L, respectively. The emulsifing time and mixing time were 10 minutes and 5 minutes, respectively. The ratios of milk to water and oil phase to internal phase were 0.5 and 0.8, respectively.
