The Preparation and Application of Nitrofurantoin Molecular-Imprinted Electrochemical Sensor Based on Glassy Carbon Electrode

A molecular imprinted electrochemical sensor has been developed for the detection of nitrofurantoin(NTF)by using NTF as the template molecule,methyl acrylic acid as the functional monomer,and ethylene glycol maleic rosinate acrylate(EGMRA)as the cross-linker.The performance of the sensor was investigated by cyclic voltammetry(CV),differential pulse voltammetry(DPV)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).A linear relationship between oxidation peak current and concentration of NTF was obtained over a range from 8.0×10-8 to 5.0×10-6 mol·L-1(r=0.9939)with a detection limit(S/N=3)of 6.5×10-8 mol·L-1.The imprinted sensor was successfully used to determine NTF in pills with recoveries ranging from 96.6%to 101.6%.
