Technological Development of High-quality Flame-retardant Polyester Fiber and Its Fabric

The paper first briefly introduces the worldwide development status-quo of flame-retardant fibers and flame-retardant textiles, and then elaborates on copolymer flame-retardant and on-line polyblending technologies, the development and applications of new-type organic and inorganic polyblended flame retardant agents, the development of high-molecular flame-retardant polyester fiber and flame-retardant finishing technology for polyester fabric, etc. It is analyzed that developing flame-retardant agents that are more eco-friendlier than existing phosphorous-containing flame-retardant agents, adopting melt direct spinning technology to further reduce production cost and developing multi-functional flame-retardant polyester fiber and textiles will be the development direction of flame-retardant fibers and related textiles. At the same time, new technologies should be adopted to further improve efficiency of flame-retardant finishing and reduce the impact on environment.
